Where Does Time Go?

I can’t believe that it has been a month since I last posted! I am retired but that doesn’t mean that I am sitting in my rocker doing nothing. It seems that my time just flies by! I keep myself busy every day.

Since this isn’t actually a sewing blog, but more of my personal journal of what I like, and see, and do, I am just going to post my random stuff. Today, I am going to show that I have been expanding my sewing to include bag making.

This Old Dog Learned a New Trick

Recently, I wrote about a treasure trove of presser feet that I received for my sewing machines. Although I was really after only a couple of the feet, I am discovering how to use some of the other feet in the collection. My latest learning experience (Who says you can’t learn something new after 70?) is using the pintuck foot.┬áThe new set had three different sizes of pintuck feet. I had to label them so I can tell them apart

A New Addition

The second bedroom in my home is quite small. When we bought the house, a twin sized bed literally filled the room. Since most of the time there are just the two of us empty nesters, I decided that the room would be much more useful as a sewing room. Since I have three brother sewing machines, I call it El Quarto de los Tres Hermanos, The Bedroom of the Three Brothers. Its fun to say I am in the bedroom with three brothers!

A Box of Candy?

A few days ago our mail carrier delivered a well padded envelope which Mr M retrieved. When he brought it in he shook it slightly and asked, “Did you get a box of candy?”. Looking at the Chinese lettering on the outside of the envelope I laughed and said, “Well, sort of…”. Not really candy, but for me, almost as exciting: it was a set of 44 sewing machine presser feet.
