We have a sort of long driveway. One day recently we decided to upgrade it with some paint and what I lovingly call “sparklies”. It turned out to be a really big job! It took a lot of teamwork between Mr. M and I . The procedure was pretty straightforward but took a lot of cooperation, energy and time.
When we moved in, we found that we have an unkept, unmanageable holly plant right next to our driveway. In fact, it was encroaching the driveway and threatening any vehicle parked there. Mr. M wanted to cut it down and destroy it. I would have none of it. I believe that the Holly is a special plant. I have just enough Irish in me, to respect the Druids’ tree beliefs. Not only that, the Holly has special significance to Christians. It is believed to have been part of the crown of thorns that was placed on Jesus’ head. Finally, I am loathe to cut down and destroy any tree. So I set out to save the holly tree. It was a LOT of work. I used my handy dandy folding pruning saw that I bought at a garage sale for 75 cents!

We don’t water it but we do water our vegetable gardens. Today there has been a lot of thunder. The sky is getting darker. It looks like this:
